Ghostbusters: Afterlife will cost haunting multiplexes soon, and IT promises to be something of a spiritual reawakening for the dealership.

Unequal the 2016 moving picture which was a full reboot, Afterlife is a continuation of the originals, picking up in real-time from where Ghostbusters II left off. In the nowadays day, a family - Callie (Carrie Coon), Phoebe (Mckenna Grace) and Trevor (Finn Wolfhard) - moves into a ramshackle Oklahoma farmhouse, which belonged to their late father/grandfather, Egon Oswald Spengler.

This being a Ghostbusters movie, of course things startle to go protrusion in the night, terrors begin to manifest, and marshmallow mascots are causation chaos.

Another crucial element of Afterlife that connects it to the franchise's then, it that director Jason Reitman (Juno, The Front Runner) has inherited the megaphone from his father Ivan Reitman, World Health Organization orientated the first two films.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife features on the cover of the upcoming issue of Total Cinema magazine, and under you potty realize three exclusive new images, featuring Reitman on-stage set alongside an iconic vehicle, Grace's Phoebe along the obsess hunt, and Mister Grooberson (Paul Rudd), Podcast (Logan Kim) and Phoebe investigating the weird goings-on. "My father would goose me day in and day out about when I was going to make a Ghostbusters cinema, as much Eastern Samoa everybody else did," Reitman tells Total Film. But he was loth to make the leap from premier member of the Ghostbusters fan club (having been happening-set equally a kid) to the series' on-silver screen keeper. "It never really ma look-alike it was my story to tell. This was my father's chronicle, and I certainly was frightened of stepping into his shadow."

All that changed "roughly a decennary" past when two images popped into his head come out of nowhere. "I saw a 12-year-old girl, with a Proton Pack, impermissible in a field, and I saw a 16-twelvemonth-old boy in Ecto-1, drifting finished wheat," Reitman recalls. "I had no more place for them, but when Harold Ramis passed, it hit me there so that: 'Oh, this is the Spengler family.' It became about a family who develop the self-assurance to gain vigor the Proton Coterie."
